Preeti Pawani founded The Mud House Studio as a place where everyone could simply play with clay. Her love for the craft soon evolved into a deeper purpose: creating a non-intimidating, enriching space where people feel free to learn, experiment, make mistakes, and express their creativity. This spirit of being nonjudgmental, rooted, and welcoming remains at the heart of the studio.

The Mud House Studio logo is inspired by the five basic elements - Earth, Water, Air, Fire & Space - that all come together in perfect harmony in nature. It's these same elements which are essential in the process of making ceramics. The Earth as clay is shaped by Water and smothered by Air to allow its shape to take form, while Fire solidifies that form in the Space that surrounds us.

It's this harmonious relationship between the elements that create a healthy, ecological balance in nature and similarly, need to be in sync to create a balanced piece of ceramic.

Thus, our logo is in respect and honor of the elements that we tend to take for granted and a gentle reminder of our connection & dependence to nature. Without it, we wouldn't have the elements to produce pottery.
